It was way too easy to let myself be lax about my health during my pregnancy. Here I am 1 week postpartum, and all I can think about is how I am going to make my way back to a healthy lifestyle.

The first thing I am going to do is decide on the best diet plan for me. I did well and kept my weight gain goal this time around. My goal was to not weigh more than I did with my first pregnancy, during my final weigh in I weighed exactly the same. I have no idea where I’m at now, but I will eventually make it back down to my pre-pregnancy weight and after that my goal weight.

The next thing I am going to do is focus on vitamins and supplements that will make my body run more efficiently. One of the things I’ve been researching is organic essential oil, there are so many and they have so many different uses. My current favorite is Eucalyptus Oil for when my allergies start acting up.

Lastly, once my 6 week healing timeframe is up I will start slowly exercising again. This is my least favorite part, but I’ve gotta do what needs to be done to be healthy.

What ways would you go about getting healthy post-pregnancy?

  1. It sounds like you are on the right track and doing great, Nina! I always had a hard time drinking enough water when my summer babies were born. Especially right after the birth, it’s so helpful for getting you back on your feet. I also enjoyed being able to walk with the baby, either in a Snuggi on my chest or pushing them in a stroller. It was a gentle segue back into consistent exercise.

  2. I am still losing my baby fat, and the baby just turned 9 😉 I am also trying to get back into the swing of a healthy diet and lifestyle.
