This post is brought to you by Latina Bloggers Connect and Pantene, all opinions are my own.
I have a hard time with my hair. I had long long hair until around Mother’s Day when I decided to get a lob (long bob) and since then I’ve had to style my hair curly to be happy with it. I curled my hair all the time when it was long, too. It looks so much better than the ‘funky waves’ that my hair produces naturally. My hair likes to do its own thing.
I tried out the following products:
- Pantene Pro-V No Crunch Curls Whip
- Pantene Pro-V Stylers Flexible Hold Hairspray
- Pantene Pro-V Stylers Shaping Extra Strong Hold Hairspray
- Pantene Pro-V Stylers Texturizing Sculpting Wax
- Pantene Pro-V Heat Protection Spray
They were all amazing, and I used every single one of them to recreate the hairstyle featured in the Maite Perroni: Cómo Obtener Cabello Ondulado con Pantene video embedded below.
It is obviously a lot harder to make subtle curls look good on shorter hair, but it is not impossible!
Always (ALWAYS) start with the Pantene Pro-V Heat Protection Spray and the Pantene Pro-V No Crunch Curls Whip on your damp hair. If I skip this step the frilly frizzy fly-away hairs overtake my entire head. The No Crunch Curls Whip is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a mousse product, it does NOT get that hard crispy texture that haunts my hair nightmares.
Next blow-dry or let your hair dry naturally. I let mine dry overnight so I could take advantage of the natural wave I get to use as a guideline for curling the rest.
Section your hair in half, top and bottom (this works better on short hair, it is best to section more for longer hair in my experience.) Curl the entire length of the bottom half, and spray with the Pantene Pro-V Stylers Shaping Extra Strong Hold Hairspray. This hairspray provides great volume, and when I have curls I love extra volume from the bottom. My hair is thick on top, so the bottom is always lacking.
Next let the top half down and start curling from your bangs back, only curling from the bottom half of the chunk of hair. You don’t want tight curls on the top. After you’ve released the curl, pull it straight until it cools and get loose looking waves from the get-go.
Run your fingers through your hair to really loosen up the curls and spray with the Pantene Pro-V Stylers Flexible Hold Hairspray.
Last step is to grab a fingertip amount of the Pantene Pro-V Stylers Texturizing Sculpting Wax and rub it really good between your hands. Pump up your curls and roots by distributing this all throughout your hair. This product is the lifesaver product for my daughter, it works miracles for her frizz and provides the best easy fix before she heads off to school.
Now, use the extra hold spray on your roots if you’d like, and voila, you’re done!
This would NOT have been as easy without these awesome products.
Here is my hair, I love it!
