Now we are past the fourth of July it’s time to get your brains in gear and start thinking about your Halloween decorations! It’s only four months away you know! Here are some of the questions that I get asked the most and my answers. Hopefully, they should help you get ahead with planning your autumn celebrations.

Can I buy them from a store?

Sure you can buy you decoration from a store. Store bought decoration are ideal for those that don’t want to spend too much money or time getting the house to look spooky. Check out the bargains available in the dollar stores and see if you can decorate the whole house for under $20.

Personally, I love a bit of Halloween craft and like the idea of making my own decorations. Whether I’ll ever get around to it is another issue!

I like the chicken wire ghosts covered in white cheesecloth that you see in people’s gardens these days. Then you can put lights underneath them, and they will appear like they are illuminated and floating round your front yard! Which is super eerie! You can do mini versions with balloons and Elmer’s glue too, like these cute little ghosts.

I love the idea of making a happy Halloween wreath to go on the front door too. Get a wire coat hanger and bend it into a circle. Cover it with quilt batting and secure with hot glue. Then use strips of purple, black and orange felt to cover the batting for a witchy striped effect. Add plastic cobwebs, spiders or even a light-up skull for some seriously spooky drama. They also look beautiful with a Happy Halloween sign hung across them. Download free spooky fonts from the internet for your sign. Then print it and laminate it to make it waterproof, before hanging.

What if we don’t celebrate Halloween?
