This is a sponsored collaboration on behalf of Scholastic, all opinions are my own.

Growing up reading was the one thing I wanted to do more than anything else. I spent my weekends at our local used bookstore (where I was known by name, and was instructed to tell my folks hello when I left.) where I’d sit for hours trying to find the best use of my money. I never left with just one book, and also returned quite a few of them as trades. Those are some of my best memories, second only to the smell of my Elementary school library.

Nobody ever pushed me to read, it was something I fell in love with all on my own. My parents were excellent examples, though, spending precious amounts of time with their own book collections, sharing the adventures they’d been a part of in glorious fashion. I had always hoped to do the same for my kids, show them the wonders that reading can bring us.

When Zoey started becoming more comfortable with reading, she instantly took a liking to reading to Emma. It is rare that Zoey lets me take over, so I’m sure to sneak some reading time in with Emma while Zoey is at school. I’m so grateful that my girls have enjoyed the experience of flipping to the next page, anticipating what is coming next.

Since starting school we’ve ordered through the Scholastic book orders every month, and I have been so impressed with their offerings so far, but something about these books and The Story Starts Here has got me in a place of amazement.
