This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of Macy’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I have a theory: certain times of year call for very specific meal types. Some breakfast, lunches, dinners, and let’s not forget about desserts, can only be thoroughly enjoyed in their prime season.

For example, I have always preferred oatmeal and other hot breakfast cereals in the winter because they warm me up while banishing the morning chill I can never seem to shake. Soups for lunch and dinner can be done all day, any day, in the Fall and Winter. During the summer, I don’t want any extra heat from my food that I don’t need for health reasons.

Out of all these contrasting seasonal foods, the most important, and not yet discussed division of them all, dessert!

For instance, it is a rare day indeed that you’ll spot me eating ice cream in the winter. It’s also highly unlikely for me to be eating a serving Strawberry Shortcake unless the warmth of Spring and Summer have descended upon us.

National Strawberry Shortcake Day with Macy’s

Macy’s shares the love of Strawberry Shortcake as much as I do. I’m not going to lie, we should form some sort of club. After doing some digging I found the most glorious thing: a few years ago Macy’s teamed up with chef Johnny Juizzini, who made a fabulous Strawberry Cheesecake.
